I saw this band last night named Ivy and, by golly, it was an amazing show. They're a great band out of New York that mixes downtempo music with lighter alternative rock. Their live show focuses more on the latter (better when a crowd's involved), but I love the downtempo stuff. And the lead singer reminds me why I love French women...
Their latest effort, In the Clear, is really well-rounded. They played one of the tracks, Four in the Morning, with the disco ball on and the lights low and, simply put, the room burst into an all-out hedonistic dance-sex session. It was fuckin' hot! My clothes are still dripping in sweat 24 hours later.
They are coming to the Double Door in Chicago on June 9th—I suggest that you go. And bring a lady. 'Cause you're getting some, during the show!
